Two eager musicians from distinct backgrounds, myself an Italian-Greek American kid from Madison, Wisconsin with dreams of being the next Tito Puente or Cal Tjader and Tito Rivera a full blood Puertorriqueno and Salsero born and bred in Brooklyn.

This shared collaboration has continued since 1996 and over the years Grupo Latin Vibe has made 3 full length cd's of which has produced several international hits with La Llave being the biggest. References to The Joe Cuba Sextette and Louie Ramirez have been made. Our belief is that our distinct signature sound of vibes with Tito's unique "NY-Jibaro style" voice produces a unique velvety and swinging salsa tune, and simply put our music is "Salsa-Jazz".

We have seen dancers move with syncronicty of heart and body to our sound and at other times attentively gathering around the bandstand to groove on our Latin Jazz.

HEAD DJ - DJ Gonzo

The pianist, percussionist, and DJ was born in El Callao- Peru. At the age of 16 he moved to New York City . He studied music at Queens College Music School and learned Latin percussion at Boys Harbor Conservatory for the Performing Arts located in El Barrio, NYC. As a musician, he has played for several Salsa bands in NYC, Germany , and San Antonio - Texas. 

In 1999, he joined the US Army and had the opportunity to serve with some of the greatest people on earth, and to also travel the world. He separated from the Army on June 2006. After separating from the Army, he studied Computer Engineering Technology at the University of Houston .  DJ Gonzo's unique style and soundly rich music selection has made him one of the favorites and top DJs in Texas .  He is the creator of “DJ Gonzo's Viejoteca”, being the only Salsa DJ in Texas who plays real Salsa/Mambo vinyl records

Socials/Dance Clubs/Events:
He continued his love for Salsa by DJing at the Houston "Salsaduradays" Salsa Social, in Houston, TX . Today, the "Salsaduradays" Salsa Social is the biggest Salsa social in the South of the US .  Texas Salsa Classic - Texas Salsa Open, Texas Salsa Extravaganza, and local clubs as Copa Bar and Grill, Austin , Tropicana, and Plaza 59, Houston.

Congresses/Festivals:
He has played as the head DJ for some of the biggest Salsa events in Texas as the Capitol City Salsa Festival 2009, and the Houston Salsa Congress 2007, 2008, and 2010 - Vegas Salsa Congress 2010.  DJ Gonzo is scheduled to DJ the Houston Salsa Congress 2011, and the Capitol City Salsa Festival 2011.
